My only beef with this rangefinder is that it does use the CR2 battery, which is harder to find out in the field than more traditional AA batteries. This is quite adequate for most hunting situations, and I’ve never come across a deer that I couldn’t get an accurate range to using the Vortex Optics Ranger 1000. For deer, on the other hand, you will only get accurate ranges out to 500 yards.
